Values-Based Financial Planning

Your money should reflect
what matters most to you

This guided exercise helps you identify your core values and translate them into a financial plan that's authentically yours — built around the life you actually want to live.

Step 1 of 10 — Introduction

Why values-based financial planning?

Most financial plans are built around numbers. This one is built around you. When your money is aligned with what you truly value, financial decisions become clearer, spending guilt decreases, and saving for the future feels meaningful rather than restrictive.

How This Works

This exercise has four phases:

  • Identify — Browse a list of values and select every one that resonates with you.
  • Rank — Drag your selections into order. Your top 5 will guide the rest of the plan.
  • Explore — For each of your top 5 values, describe the specific ways you want to live it out.
  • Cost — Attach an estimated cost and frequency to each expression.
A Note on Cost

You will be asked to estimate what it costs to live each value. Do not let price tags limit your vision. The purpose is clarity, not restriction. You can always dial things back later — but now is the time to dream big.
