Values-Based Financial Planning
This guided exercise helps you identify your core values and translate them into a financial plan that's authentically yours — built around the life you actually want to live.
Most financial plans are built around numbers. This one is built around you. When your money is aligned with what you truly value, financial decisions become clearer, spending guilt decreases, and saving for the future feels meaningful rather than restrictive.
This exercise has four phases:
If you are completing this as a couple, we recommend that each partner complete this exercise independently before comparing results. Discovering where your values align — and where they differ — is often one of the most valuable conversations you can have. There are no wrong answers.
You will be asked to estimate what it costs to live each value. Do not let price tags limit your vision. The purpose is clarity, not restriction. You can always dial things back later — but now is the time to dream big.
